I have been using an over the Air Antenna to get local channels in HD and some extra Antenna channels (that don't really matter)...

The problem I am having is for months the Antenna just sat there on the shelf giving me CBS, NBC, Fox and ABC in HD with no problems.. now its like I have to put it different places different times of the day just to get one channel to come in clear..

Any ideas why it would jsut stop working all of a sudden.. or it will work for 30+ minutes and then the signal just starts dropping in an out almost like a video online needing to buffer.

I got my parents old, huge antenna from their attic and use it in mine and works great.

See how far you are away from your broadcast antennas, and get an appropriate antenna. I never have had good luck with them little indoor antennas.

This is just one of those $25 from Walmart that sits next to TV.. it worked great for a while and it has its days.. but here recently it acts like a sattalite dish during a thunderstorm..

Well yeah that's just part of the risk running through the airwaves. I've had the occasional issue with severe storms also, but nothing more than a few second hiccup.

that is the thing... its clear as day weather.. I don't get how the antenna can't pick up tv stations from 25 miles away.. shouldn't it be like a radio picking up music

There's a lot of factors that can affect your reception. You may be too far away from the tower. This site will give you headings to all the stations in your area.

Is it a powered antenna? If so it has probably gone bad. I have a big amplified one in attic and pick up from 40 - 50 miles out. There is a real good website that will give you mile and signal strengths for your area but I forgot the name.
