PS4 / Xbox One... Reviews in Progress

You will love The Last of Us but I will warn you.... it is far from open world. It is extremely linear though that isn't a bad thing with that game. I won't spoil anything for you but don't go in expecting the same thing as RDR or GTA.

 

Oh yeah , I know The Last of Us isn't open world , that's just the bundle that was on sale , I think I got a decent price

500GB PS4 , 2 controllers and the game for $449 CDN , which is like $408 USD at today's exchange rate

Cool is that the one with the 1tb hard drive? That is a nice bundle. I think it's interesting Microsoft is putting out a lot of consoles bundles and none of them have the connect. It kind of looks like they are giving up on the connect.

 

As well they should. I sold mine last week as I just didn't see a reason for keeping it. The only game coming out that I was remotely interested in was Halo that was a console specific title. The Kinnect was my biggest gripe about the XBOX when it came out but now that you can buy one without it makes it a much better bargain.

 

Yeah I didn't care much for the design or anything but it's a pretty fair price IMO because you get the 1tb hard drive and the advanced warfare game vs paying 399 for the 500gb and then having to buy the game seperate
My only complaint is that it doesn't come with 2 controllers like my mw3 360 bundle and yeah I'm glad it doesn't come with the kinect , never liked it

this. I used to be a playstation guy. had the original, the small PSOne, PS2, then went to xbox and never looked back. the controller feels so much more ergonomic than the PS controller now. i cant play them for shit now.

Me too. I had a lot of systems actually. Super nintendo, ps1, ps2, xbox, game cube, but once I got the 360 I was hooked. Can't wait to get a xbox one soon.

 

Having come from a 360 to ps4, i think the ds4 is actually really comfortable. Never cared for the previous designs though.

Also got my first legendary engram from crucible then it was legendary hunter gloves. Such a disappointment! But i did earn 100 crucible marks this weekend so ill be getting armor as soon as i get my faction rep level 2.

 

I saw your invite earlier. I've left the game running here and there while playing with my daughter and cleaning house. I also got a legendary hunter's arm set night before last. They need to come up with a way to "gift" them to your friends. I don't plan on making a hunter and one of the girls I play with could have used them. I put them in my vault just in case they come out with that option.

I've earned my 100 vanguard points for the week and bought the legendary chest and I'm stuck at 44 right now. Can't remember when I can start earning more which sucks since I want the boots or helm next.

As soon as I got my 16 strange coins the fucking vendor disappeared and won't be back till next weekend. Oh well... I should have plenty more by then. I'm still enjoying the game and the grind is just what I expected so it's no big deal to "me". But coming from MMO's I'm used to it. I've picked up a lot of good shit and I guess I'll just run random strikes and bounties until I start earning vanguard marks again. At least I'll have my rep up to lvl 3 by then. I've already got 2 legendary weapons and a exotic one I'm working on so far.

 

I figured you were busy so all good. I just dismantled the gloves. Figured by the time a trading system is out most people i play with will already have legendary.

Mark cap resets on tuesday. I did all the crucible bounties this week, should have done some of the vanguard ones. Im going to buy chest,gloves and boots assuming i get all my marks this next week. I really just need more hadronic essence (material for warlock armor upgrades, and a helm then id be 22). Are you farming or actually playing and doing bounties? I dont want to sit at a cave shooting cause thats boring.

How are you getting strange coins? i have 2.

edit: i need to do weekly strikes(i know those give good rewards, i havent done any) if we could plan times to do those maybe? If you want.

 

I'm doing all the bounties and all the strikes. The coins are random from deconing certain items and Decoherent (Blue) Engrams. I've got close to 20 now and just when I got 16 the vendor left. Guess he won't be back till next weekend. Good to know when the marks reset.
