I'm a huge fan of Stevie Ray Vaughan! He is my all-time favorite guitar player. I would have to say that Texas Flood is my favorite song by him.

Not a fan, per say, but I do have one of his albums. I couldn't even tell you which album it is..... :D

I'm not much into jazz or blues - but I really enjoy that album. It's kinda a mix inbetween blues & rock. Really cool!

I love SRV. The way he melded blues with rock was unbelievable. There are so many great songs, I can't name a favorite. But, "Life by the Drop" off of "The Sky is Crying" album is amazing. Just him and a 12 string. If I'm not mistaken, this is the only song he recorded with a 12 string.

If you like SRV, then you will probably like Kenny Wayne Shepherd. Very similar styles, and he has been touring with SRV's band for the past few years. His dad was a guitar tech for Stevie back in the day.

yeah, kenny wayne played because of srv. there's a 12 string acoustic version of pride and joy as well. you can find it on youtube. he played on mtv's unplugged several months before the crash.

Sweet. I'll have to check that out. Ever heard of Eric Gales? He's kinda like a modern Jimi. He even plays left-handed; w/o re-stringing his guitar: High-E on top.

Also check out the Derek Trucks Band. He has been touring with the Allman Brothers since he was like 14. I saw his solo band a month or so ago...the kid absolutely destroys a Fender. No pick, uses his fingers and a slide...unreal.

You might also like the Drive By Truckers. A real Southern Rock band, that has three incredible guitar players. Best album is "The Southern Rock Opera" a classic.

I still remember the day that SRV died. My buddy and I were in high school at the time and we were both pretty upset. Stevie was just so talented (which doesn't even come close to describing his talents) and we instantly knew that music had lost one of the true greats.

Another great musician that passed too early :( Just think what he could have done if he was still alive.
