John Force/Tony Pedregon

Did any of you guys see the fight between John Force and Tony Pedregon at the end of the drag strip? I have never seen anything like this before for the 8 years I've been watching NHRA drag racing.

No It just happened live about 30 min ago, but you can tune to ESPN2 and they may show it again.

A lot happened but basically John got mad because Tony was acussing him of cheating and acussing John of taking a dive and losing in a round with John's teammate Robert Hight. And when Robert Hight won the round against John it put Robert into the last spot for the chase countdown to the championship.

And the reason why Tony is mad is because when Robert won, it shoved Cruz Pedregon (Tony's Brother and teammate) out of the championship and out of the countdown. And John is just mad because of what Tony and Cruz are saying about him that he's cheating and taking a dive and so on.

And it built up and up to the point where they just got into a fight at the end of the race track.

 

Force is my guy but it looked like a dive to me. The commentator thought it was fishy too. The NHRA is going to look into it. Should be interesting...

 

tonys a sh** bag got beat by ashley force and has to whine about cruz if it wasnt for john force tony would be changing oil for someone force is in it to win and im just not saying that because i own 3 mustangs

 

Yeah I'm not sure what to think about it, They are both good drivers and team owners. With all the money that's on the line and championships, things are bound to get heated and not to mention a bunch of other factors that can make it even more heated.

 

Who wouldn't throw the race if they were in Force's position. If he had won Hight (Force's teammate) wouldn't have made the countdown. Yes its racing and people pay to see close racing, but its also a business and sometimes you have to do whats best for the business. I feel its no different than nascar teammates letting each other lead a lap in the race to get bonus points. Its all about whats best for the team and I'm sure the fans understand that.

That was awesome. Any one of the teams would of done the same thing in that situation. We will probably see some fines coming this week.

 

I'm all team Force but it was very obvious what JF did and I was not a proud fan at that moment. Especially when he chose the right lane where most everyone had problems. Mike Dunn nailed it on the head - FAR TOO SUSPICIOUS BUT IMPOSSIBLE TO PROVE.

We all make mistakes and I believe this is a big one for JFR. Don't take up acting John. Don't get me wrong, I'll cheer for you again but not real soon.
