I usually get to play an hour or two every evening while my wife does her homework and my son does his. :D Once it warms up again we will be outside a lot more but yes, my wife and I can sit and play games all weekend if there is nothing else going on. Oh and do I qualify as one of the old guys?

When I get a new game, I am addicted until I beat it. Then I can go 4, 5, 6 months to a year without playing. But man, when a new game comes out that I am really into, you can't get me to do much of anything else.

you don't qualify as an old guy gamer. my dad is 60 years old and plays regularly. he was playing that new Wet game last night...looks pretty badass. he has all of the call of duty games, but doesn't play online. he mostly plays in the wintertime when there's no grass to mow

Yes, you are correct. It is just a video game which in and of itself is perfectly harmless. Played a little... no problem. These people talking about 20+ hours a week need to chill. Video games are a large contributer to the obesity epidemic in our country. Don't give me the Wii Fit speech. That obesity epidemic is getting bad enough that it is beginning to affect my life. I pay more for health care due to it and I honestly don't care for sharing my airplane/movie seat with the neighbor's fat roll.

I shall get off my soapbox now. Thank you for your time.;)

I play a lot of video games now because it is winter here and I just bought an xbox 360. I love being outside but not when its below 30 degrees haha. I hate the cold. Once it gets nicer out I wont touch my 360 for a long time. I am all about being outside and dirt biking in nice weather.

no, im pretty sure video games dont cause obesity. Eating food causes obesity.

If people want to play video games, then whatever. i do, i also watch television, watch movies and get on the internet as you are doing now. So if your gonna say video games cause obesity, you may also want to say all electronic devises cause it. Because no matter whet. your either sitting in front of a tv, or computer screen.

Yes, food does cause obesity, but not alone. Skinny people eat food. Obesity is caused by ingesting way more calories than you're burning. Sedentary life styles, such as the lifestyles of many gamers don't lend themselves to burning very many calories.

I concede to your second point when speaking strictly of obesity.

I wouldn't say I'm addicted overall. I'll play a lot if I find a game that interests me. I went months without touching my PS3 other than for Bluray movies. I've been playing MW2 a few hours a day though since it came out. I don't pull 7 hours in a row though most I can sit and play is 2.

I get what your saying, But video games alone arent the only reason. People sitting and doing nothing in general does. Like tv, movies interent video games.

People shouldnt sit there like zombies tho, u are right

    i laugh at fat people:p
