    Soft Cell's "Tainted Love" was a cover. So well done that nobody ever hears about the original.

    Everclear did a very worthwhile cover of "Brown Eyed Girl" where they stayed true enough to the original for it to be considered a cover while adding enough to make it something new. It's almost a tribute to the original rather than a simple rehash.

    Any decent remake has to add something that was not present in the original. Covering a song for the sake of covering it and making a buck doesn't cut it with me.

    x2 on Hendrix's "All Along the Watchtower." Even Bob Dylan said it was better than his own version. :)
