I'm curious if anyone has / is experiencing this odd symptom. I have an 09 Tacoma TRD Off Road 4.0 V6. Occasionally, upon putting the truck in drive my gas pedal behaves "dead". In other words, it is not causing the engine to increase power and move the truck forward. Instead, I sit there and continue to slowly push the pedal and then all of a sudden it "takes off". Now, the time is very little, maybe a second or two. My dealer said this is due to the transmission not being up to temp and that the computer senses this and does not allow acceleration. But this happens randomly, when cold or up to temp. Any ideas?

I changed out my spark plugs the other day and they were gapped correctly and tightened down and everything seems to be correctly hooked up and back in place, but my gas mileage since changing them has dropped almost 5 mpg. Any suggestions what this could be? I didn't know if it was possible to just have a bad spark plug, and if so what i could do to figure out which one. Any help is greatly appreciated.

have a 1995½ tacoma 3.4 engine with 5speed trans. It slips in 3rd and 4th. Just after you let the clutch out. then it doesn't slip.
The clutch has 70k on it and suprises me that it would go out this soon. I have personally babied the clutch since I have owned it. Before the clutch got replaced the first time, there was a continuous squeak in the transmission at idle not moving when the clutch was released. When you barely push on the clutch, the squeek went away. well, that squeak came back at about 50k on the clutch that is on now and currently 70k now.

I have read a few threads about the transfer case stuck in Neutral. I don't understand what that would mean. I have checked by putting the truck in 4wd and the truck doesn't slip. Ideas? suggestions, or causes?

skip:eek:

I changed the sensor before the converter with a Denso exact fit 02 sensor. I used a scanner to clear the code and it was fine for a weeks. Then check engine light came back on for the same bank one sensor 1 O2 sensor. Why would this code keep coming back? I did check the wires and they are okay. The truck has 88,000 miles on it.

UGG! Well just got new OME springs and shocks put on the truck yesterday and a few bummers... The new shocks are are scratched to hell so I can only assume they were rolling around the floor or were dropped. When you buy new its nice to have it look new at leasy until you mess or scratch it up...

More to the problem ... every time I move about, stop, accellerate, turn, bump I seem to hear some crunching coming from the back. Any thoughts as to the noises? I did not hear anything like them on my other truck when I had it installed...

As some of you may already know...my clutch is shot :(

bad

as in when i put it into first and let out the clutch, once it is all the way out...it feels like its still held in partially

so

of course the dealer wants 1400+ to fix it with all OEM parts too:eek:

so i decided if im gonna have to spend that much money out of pocket (because my Ext. Coverage doesn't cover it) i might as well get a BETTER clutch

so i found this :D
http://www.urdusa.com/product_info.p..._id=1260518982
it is a kit from URD with their Stage 3 Clutch kit and their lightened flywheel for a good price packaged together!

and also a great mechanic who has worked on my previous vehicles who will do the job for about 400 bucks

now, my question is...what else do i need apart from this kit? what should i replace while down there that will help prevent future damage or what NEEDS replacing while down there?

names/part numbers/links would be GREATLY appreciated

thanks you TW's
