First off, I did not design this..I found it on the interwebs somewhere and liked the idea, so here it is.

First off, I did not design this..I found it on the interwebs somewhere and liked the idea, so here it is.

I made it out of 4" pipe, caps, and wye.

first, locate the nearest Lowes and buy yourself a section of 4" pipe. The Lowes by me, didnt have anything shorter then a 10' piece, so here it is on the way home

Second, lay everything out and find out what your dealing with. You should have two(2) black 4" caps, one(1)4" wye, and a piece of 4" pipe cut to what ever length you desire. After I cut the flared end off, I had 9'8" to deal with. I made one 5', and the other one is about 2" shorter.

After cutting the pipe in half(or close to it), set aside one piece for another use. File down the rough edges of the pipe so everything will look nice.

Take the wye, and slide it onto one end of the 4" pipe you just cut like so

Pre-drill 4-5 small holes, and I used about 4-5 screws to hold it togehter. 6x3/4 is what I used to hold the wye onto the pipe.

Once that is completed, take the 4" cap and slide it onto the bottom of the wye. I pre-drilled again, and used about 5 screws to hold the cap to the bottom of the wye. Prefer to use short screws, so if a deer sticks its nose/tounge into the bottom it wont get cut up. 10x3/4 is what I used to hold the bottom cap onto the bottom of the wye. I also drilled a bunch of small holes in the cap on the bottom of the wye, to let any moisture that may get in, out.

Heres the finished product, just over 5' tall, ready to hold feed for the deer.

sorry for the crooked pic, but I couldnt back up far enough away to get a good pic.

The finished product will be just ratchet strapped to the tree about a foot up, to keep it mobile.

With everything but the screws, it ran me just under $30 to make this feeder. And I have the tube for another one, so another $20 for two caps, and another wye, and I can have another feeder.

Hope you enjoyed my build. Lol

By Paul Garber | Journal Reporter
Published: November 19, 2009
COLUMBIA, S.C. - South Carolina shoppers will get a second chance to buy tax-free guns.
The state Revenue Department sent out a reminder yesterday of the "Second Amendment Weekend." The 48-hour tax break begins just after midnight the Friday after Thanksgiving.
Shoppers will pay no state or local sales taxes on handguns, rifles and shotguns, which can tally 9 percent. Taxes still apply to ammunition and accessories.
South Carolina had the nation's first tax holiday on guns last year, after legislators tacked it on to a tax break on energy-efficient appliances. But the state Supreme Court threw out that law in May because of an unrelated energy amendment. Legislators restored the tax break as a one-time event in the budget this year.
Louisiana followed this year with its own sales-tax holiday for hunters in September. That break went further, applying to any item that can be used for hunting or fishing, including off-road vehicles and airboats.
South Carolina is the only state to designate a tax-free weekend during two of the year's biggest shopping days.
How much shoppers saved in the gun-friendly state last Thanksgiving weekend is unknown. State economic officials estimated it would cost the state about $15,000.
The National Rifle Association praises the idea. But the director of a nonprofit group that advocates for changes in South Carolina's tax structure said "there is no good tax reason to have a gun sales-tax holiday."
"It isn't tax policy. It's gun policy," said John Ruoff of South Carolina Fair Share.

Searching online I've found some public lands within an hour but am always a little hesitant about that because some people are just not safe with guns.

so, i got my newest edition of National Rifleman in the mail the other day...and on the cover was the infamous beretta M9 standard issue military handgun...now after reading the inside article, i was astonished to see that the Airforce chhose this gun as their standard issue before the army did.

now as i kept reading i found it amazing to see that the beretta had many issues...especially with the slide screwing up after 10- 30,000 rounds...now the italian arms manufacturer said the issue was due to the military's usage of a more powerful ammo round than was needed....but the army, during their testing phases after the M9 had been re-vamped, the two guns that were leftcame down between the Sig Sauer P298 and the beretta M9...after extensive testing..the army tended to go with the M9 due to its resiliance to mud, dirt and grim in the barrel and reciever....finally...haha..my question.

What is the bighest difference between the M9 beretta and the Sig Sauer? i know both guns are different but what are your thoughts on the Sig...(especially you coasties out there) versus the M9?

I have been wanting to put a remote control on my baby mojo duck but I'm being a tight wad I really don't want to dish out $50 if I dont have too. I had the thought that maybe I could use a deer feeder remote control but the only ones I can find have a 5 second time interval (only stay on for 5 seconds then turns off). Has anyone made any kind of "homemade" remote for a mojo? I have found where people have ran the wire from the mojo to the duckblind but being how I hunting in flooded timber must of the time this wouldn't work!

Basically its a 6 volt battery and a 6 volt motor and I need to think of something to that I can put in there to switch the power on and off remotely!

Any ideas, thoughts, suggestions would be great!!!

...My dad got on saturday :( I knew he was HUGE (respective for our area).

Here is the story of my miss. My dad told me around 9 AM he was going to start walking towards me and circle around through the brush just past the crest of a small hill so I would never have a clear line of sight of him, thus ensuring a shot from me would not endanger him.

Well about 5 minutes past 9, four large does come bounding under my tree stand. I look over towards where they came from and see a large (i thought) 6 or 8 point stand broad side to me. Unfortunately I had turned my body to where the does stopped in anticipation of him following the same path. He was standing behind two trees leaving only his belly exposed.

So I started to turn toward him in my tree stand. He was already alert because my dad jumped them up. He took a step out giving me a clear shot at his vitals. He heard me click off my safety and he took off. I decided to pop a shot at him knowing i had 1 in a 1000 chance of hitting him since he was running directly away from me, and my shot would have gone between the two said trees.

Needless to say the neighbor heard the shot and looked over to see him bounding down the fenceline of his pasture.

Well, my dad got a long shot at him with a muzzle loader and nailed him. Ended up being a 10 point which is the largest we have ever harvested
