I want to give a  to Auto Page car alarms for there customer service.
My son Josh and myself have the Auto Page alarm that pages you if your vehicle is disturbed.
The key fob will vibrate and sound a beeping sound and the LCD will display that your truck was
bumped or someone opened a door; pretty neat.
We both started having problems with the remote. It seemed like it would go through batteries
like crazy.
So yesterday I Googled "problems with Auto Page remote," hoping someone else was having the
same problem and had an answer. The first listing was the Auto Page web site. Clicked on 'contact us'
and believe it or not, there were phone numbers and e-mail addresses; not hidden but dead center of the page!
I picked one of the three e-mail addresses and sent off a letter describing the problem Josh and I were
having. This was 7:30am, California time. At 9:40am, I get an e-mail back from the VP of Engineering
and Operations, "please call me to discuss this."
I call him up and sort of explain the problem. He tells me, send me your address. I'm going to send you
two new upgraded more robust remotes for you and your son. He never asked how long I had the alarm or
where I bought it, he only wanted to fix the problem. I sent him my address at 9:55 am and by 1:30 pm,
I had receive an e-mail with the tracking number!!!!
Today when I got home from work, there were two new remotes on my front porch.
Thank you Auto Page!

I didn't like how my truck swayed side to side on the highway, especially when changing lanes. After a lot of indecision trying to figure out the best way to spend less than $200 on it, I decided to go with new rear shocks. I have (had) Bilstein HD's on all 4 corners, they are about 4-5 years old and have probably about 40,000 miles on them. I spent a long time trying to figure out what rear shocks I wanted, I know most people recommend the 5100's but I had to be different so I finally went with Monomax's. I gotta say, I like em, better than the HD's and MUCH better than the crap OEM's I had originally. They are pretty stiff, but that's what I wanted. I'm keeping the HD's on the front for now, but the new rear's made a big difference in the back end sway, and it's actually about 1/2 inch taller now. If you're on the fence about new shocks, at least consider the monomax's, they're good if you're looking for extra control. Haven't been offroad with them yet though...

This is on an '06 Double Cab short bed FWIW.

Anyone have a bungy net? Does it hook OK into the rail slots or do you just use the factory tie downs? How well do they work?

The bed looks like it has pockets for boards that go across. The slots look like they would fit a 1x8. Is that what is supposed to go in there or does Toyota sell accessories to for that? Any good DIY mods to fit those?

Does anyone make the sort of hoop thing that folds out on an open tail gate to provide more size? I'm guessing not since the Taco tailgate is notorious for bending under weight, but I'll ask anyway.

I guess I need to crack open the manual and see how much loading the D-rings and bed rail tie downs will hold.

Any other good bed accessories I should be aware of? (I know - pop-N-lock - but I don't think I have questions about that.)

Thanks!

I just took posession of a mint 2005 Doublecab Taco with 28k on it. Only downside (other than a missing center cap) is that it has NO floormats.

Finding myself in the market now for mats, I've read a lot about WeatherTech, Husky, OEM, and Wal-Mart options.

Here's the question: should I pull the trigger on a set of "digital fit" mats (that won't be here for a few weeks due to a wicked shortage), or should I go the Wal-Mart option until redesigned Toyota OEM all-weather mats are available?

So I was having trouble deciding between Husky and Weathertec, and decided based on price to go with Husky. From the pictures on their website it looks like the liner has a lip around the entire liner, but looking at some forum pictures it looks like some people have husky's with a flat section like the Weathertec's, so I'm wondering if Husky changed the design to make it more like Weathertec? I get mine today, so I don't know which version I will have and I'll use them either way, just curious to hear from others that have them.

EDIT: I got them and they look like they'll work great, but the problem is I don't get my truck back from Toyota for another week (frame replacement) so I'm gonna have to wait for the actual review.

I was checking them out and saw that their showroom is about 20 minutes from me. I called ahead, found out they had what I wanted and headed there to pick up a set.

A benefit of local pickup is that I could try them out before I bought them and had there been any fit issues, an exchange would have been easy. A second benefit is that they are running a backlog on shipments so I avoided a two week wait. ;)

I tried the gray ones and never looked back. They matched perfectly with the interior of the truck. For anyone who is curious about fit, I tried to get some detailed pictures to demonstrate that. (That's the main reason I didn't just tag on to one of the other threads.)

Driver mat looks like:

Up under the dash:

Front seat full back:

Back seat (front in my normal driving position)

Back seat, front full forward so show clearance for rear heating ducts:

Rear edge of rear seat to show fit:

Obviously there were no fit issues. My only problem is that I'm missing one of the driver side mat hooks. But I don't think the mat is going anywhere. I'm sorry to hear about others who had issues on the passenger side or rear seat. But it sounds like Weathertech is stepping up to help resolve those. The folks I dealt with were all pleasant and courteous.

And I think the product is well engineered, looks great and will provide a high degree of protection.

One more note - we've had this truck since Saturday - an '06 with nearly 50K miles on it - and I think it looks great! :D

again its only 72 hours, and I just got the e-mail today, I have never ordered from them before so any questions check their site and ask them. Personally I have a G4 elite fold a cover, but I know alot of you like the these too so if your were going to get one, heres your incentive I guess.
