I'm assuming he wants to flat tow the FJ. He needs to use neutral at the transfercase.

You should keep a 4-wheel drive vehicle in 2H at all times if driving on pavement. If that's what your talking about?

So he wants to tow something right? There should be no need for messing with anything.

Are you referring to while coasting in neutral what speed you can shift a stick shift into 2nd gear?

No, it's an auto.
He's not looking to tow anything, just wondering what the settings on the 4x4 shifter were and how and when to use them.
He's telling me he's not getting much info from the owner's manual.
Is it really that confusing that he can't figure it out?
He's had 4 4x4's before the FJ... I have no idea what he's talking about.

If he's driving his FJ on the street it has to be in 2 hi. If he puts it in neutral then it puts the whole tranny in neutral and he wont go anywhere.
