I am going to test drive this week. Was walking thru the city last night and saw a black/white FJ roll by and it was sweet! Looked like it had a TRD exhaust, those pricey wheels and more. Wish it had better MPG (of course) and less blind spots but...

So you have two tacomas and will have a back up bed when needed? I won't lie my mpg sucks! Got a 07 with 68 on it. Stock size tires put new plugs gapped to spec still crap mileage. Off road thing climbs like a mountain goat!!! I don't burry it in mudd holes never found the enjoyment in it when I can go around it and not have to clean for days. Do love the FJ just miss the Tacoma bed sometimes. Good luck you'll be able to find a good deal on one somewhere no problem.

The 2012s get better mpgs than the previous years.

Yes they put the same motor in our 11 4runner TE it does do better. Best I've got in it on a trip was 20.9 for the whole tank.

just an idea, might test drive for fun. mpg isn't the only consderation - there are others like modern conveniences, comfortable seat, gps, TRD exhaust, newness, etc...

It is probably my favorite Toyota I've owned so far! I had a 02 4runner sport emerald green hood scope that I will die wishing I'd never traded off though! You will love it happy hunting!

You pretty much have three models: 4x2 AT, 4x4 MT or 4x4 AT. Locker and A-Trac is standard on 4x4 MT but not on 4x4 AT or 4x2 AT.. Everything else is just assessories. The most important things to get is the rear diff e-locker and A-Trac.

X2 it won't be TT but as long as you have rear locker atrac 4x4 thing climbs like a mountain goat!

Looked at one for the first time yesterday when I was getting my oil changed at the dealership. I'd buy one.

Very nice but not my first choice as a family vehicle if that applies.

No mud flaps, plasti dipped emblems, and rear bumper, Weather tech digital fit, Bed mat from tractor supply. Pioneer 4400BH head unit. B.A.M.F bed rail tie downs. AVS vent visors.
i like them. friend has a ’11 TT. i don’t find that i have a a lot of blind spots. maybe the way i sit and have mirrors adjusted. i have only drove it once. i would def test drive them and prob end up in one if i was to total my truck. i thought i would use my bed more than i do.
also i could use dads tundra or brother silverado, or the trailer we have.

drove a 2010 (with only 8000 miles) trail team in sand color. i liked it but they want $37,700 for a used truck - mind you i do live in SF. can't compare it to my pickups b/c it is too different...

I've test driven the FJs and they are really nice. My compaints on the FJ are the large blind spots and the small back seat area. Many times I carry 3 or 4 adults in my Tacoma with no issues but the back seat of the FJ is quite small....

im not selling my trucks, just adding to it.

i live in sanfran and all the tech money makes people price things kooky. I will pay the right money or fly somewhere else and buy it right = no loyalty

backseats don't matter to me b/c only surfboards go there...
please do not give me links to after market sites for these fjs

i've owned a fjc for 5 years and the blind spot is not that bad. you have to watch your mirror's a little bit more. getting almost 19mpg on a v6 with 4x4 is not bad in my book.

DO IT. 5 dollar stick on mirrors eliminated any blind spots in my case. I drive it 30 miles round trip down a very busy interstate daily and have full confidence when switching lanes. As long as you get a 4x4 with ATRAC and the locker, it will kick major ass for you offroad as well.
