I'm looking at trading in for an FJ too, should I wait for the 2014's?. Base is pretty bare, the first convenience package has a locker, and the second more expensive convenience package has Atrac, CRAWL and bilstines. The upgrade package has all the bells whistles but no bilstines? I'm guessing base is base, convenience 1 is basic upgrades, convenience 2 is TRD, and upgrade is limited?
Apparently A- track is installed on all 2010 FJ's, just the button is left off for the base model. I read its pretty easy to install a button aftermarket.
I am kinda in the same situation as you
From what I have read and understand is that toyota has to upgrade alot of their vehicles for 2014 for emissons and saftey standards...pretty sure the tacoma is up for a revamp. The FJ though I have been led to believe wont really change and will only be made until there is no more demand but it could be changed (not much I hope, maybe a soft top version
). The Fj wasnt suppose to be made this long so I am hoping they possibly revamp it a bit for better mpg. Not that it mattesr that much to me but I figured I would wait it out. I am only looking to upgrade because my 4 cylinder sucks at 10k elevation where I frequently goto and live at 7k
I am ok with adding aftermarket parts as long as it is worth the price and out performs stock parts by a leap. Its looking to me that with the warranty the fj would be better off upgraded from the factory and only change the suspension if needed.
