Hey everyone first time logging on for a looooong time. How many members on here live in South Florida/Miami? Was also wondering what spots there are besides NW 41st and SW 8th. Those places are badass btw! :D

I am down in Miami...but I have a pre-runner so I stick away from those areas. I think there is one further down south.

coconut creel/pompano beach area here. I've gone out to JW corbett in palm beach, but you really can't go off the improved roads there. Also, some good looking trails in in Big Cypress, I think Bear Island. Was out there two weeks ago, but the trails are closed from June to August (didn't know until I got there). So did a little walk through and it looks like some fun wheeling back there. Quite a hike to get there though.

    What is 41st and 8th?

Its a forest with trails and mud pits off 137th and SW 8th...just gotta be careful when you enter because there is about a 4 foot mud bog on your right which is not fun to get stuck in (been in there unfortunately).

    Hello Forum,

Miami, Florida here! Just north of Coral Gables.

I asked this question before but it's been a while and I'm hoping to get more input. What trails can I drive with my truck that are 2WD friendly? I have a:

    (2008 Pre-runner, DCSB, 4.0 auto,
    5 month old LT265/75r16 BFG A/T's,
    4 Billie 5100's with fronts at .85
2012 TRD 2/1 leafs with Wheelers
3-Leaf AAL w/ OEM overload leaf
left in also. (Basically 5/1 leafs).

The 2 locations that I have been to in Miami are NW 41st and to SW 8 ST & 137 AVE. NW 41 st is mainly flooded dirt roads (water covering the steps on the sides of my truck) & SW 8 ST is mud with rocks on the bottom (you drive about 5 MPH and you are literally bouncing in your truck. I never went to the center of the 8 st location because I hear that place is for 4x4. I've gone in fairly deep and haven't been stuck yet.

    I've Googled the following places:

    * A place known as "The Hump"in Homestead.

    * Bear Island in the Big Cypress National Preserve.

    * J.W. Corbett in West Palm Beach.

Has anyone here with 2WD been to any of these places? If so, can a 2WD handle it? I know that there will be places that are 4WD ONLY but atleast some of it could be driven with 2WD I hope. BTW, I am not looking for mud exclusively. It can be mud or any type of scenic trails out there that I can drive through AND be able to handle light mud or flooding. Thats basically what I am looking for.

PS. I got a real good deal on this truck so I am not going to sell it just to buy a 4WD Tacoma. I'm just looking to have the most fun with what I have.

Go to google maps and type in nw 41 st. Scroll westward until you see nw 147 ave. The area northwest of that intersection is where I went.

I drove there about 2 weeks ago and the gate to enter nw 147 ave was closed. There is an FPL plant there so they lock it from time to time.

Also, type in sw 8 st and scroll westward to sw 137 ave. the are nw of that intersection is the place to offroad. I have "heard" that its private property but I see people there every weekend that I drive by there.

Use the satellite view so you can see the dirt roads. You can also look for my post titled: Offroad amateur fun (something like that) & I have 4 videos there so you can have an idea. Keep in mind that I am 2WD and I went alone so I didn't venture in there too much. If 2 or more trucks go then thats a different story.

As for JW, I'm looking forward to that. I've never been there
    :)
