So, does it cost any thing for the camp site? And what facilities does it have? Power has been mentioned, but are water and restrooms also available? Showers?

BTW, How is cell phone reception out there? I have AT&T if that makes a difference.

 

Hehe, as I understand it, there were tables there. Whether or not there will be when you get there I think depends on if you arrive before Ryan (xmadcowx).

 

That was Ocala. I provided extra safety tape to clearly mark the picnic table for Ryan last time out.



As for the camp ground. There are electric and water hookups, picnic tables, and firepits at each camp site. And there are nice bathrooms with showers. At least 2 of them if I remember correctly. Its a pretty nice place in my opinion.

 

I would think sometime December or January.
At least by January it is most likely to be cold. These past few years even December its still warm out.

Electricity, water, showers, bathrooms.... Sounds good. Picinic tables are the least of it. That's why we have truck beds, right?

People are asking about cell phone reception, I can only speak for Verzion. It's just fine. And yes, without Jasons clearly defined picnic table landing strips we may have had another incident.

 

Always trying to help protect our picnic tables.


And my reception with AT&T does pretty well out there.

That's true 2010.TRD. Better chance for cold weather since January is (usually) the coldest month in Florida. Plus, it gives people more time to plan & prepare. I personally like the 2nd half of January.

Okay so let's start working on a specific date.

I'll just throw one out there, im thinking about January 24th to 27th weekend.
Whatndoes everyone think? Does it work, I think it should be cold by then.

 

I can't do that weekend. I like earlier in the month

 

My personal vote would be either the weekend if December 27-29 OR January 3-5.

My reasoning behind that is mainly for my son. He has been asking for months when we are going again and if I bring him I want to be able to do fri-sun. Those are the last 2 weekends of his winter break from school.

 

I vote for Dec 27-29 AND January 3-5.

 

Ok so i think we are settling more towards January 3-5.
I can do that, any one else wants to put in their 2cents.

I think jan. 3-5 would be good right after the holidays.

I have a question my daughter would be about 14 months
Old by then maybe it would be too soon to take her along?
Anyone with kids have any thoughts on this?
My only issue on bringing her along would be the cold weather

 

I only speak for myself, but I will most likely miss the 3-5 weekend because my dad will still be in town after new years. Might come up there Saturday afternoon if he leaves Friday or so. If these days work for a majority, book it. I will figure out a way to get up there for a few hours at least.

 

3-5 works for me.

I can't go without my son. He would kick my ass if I tried. But he's been going since before he turned 4. He's 5 now and I'm not worried at all. For you, it's up to you. If its just you it might take some of the fun out of it, but if its you and the misses you will be just fine. Keep her warm and Kyle (my son) will entertain I'm sure.

I say we just set that date (1/3-1/5) and let everyone plan it out now. Someone start up the official meet thread so we can start the planning as in reserving the spots and who's bringing the beer. And cross our fingers that David and his da come again and bring some steaks. Which I will gladly contribute to the cost of this time.

 

I usually bring my little weber campout grill. you can get them from lowes or something real cheap. I have had mine fer years.

 

I can go jan 3-5 but if anyone wants to go nov 15-17th i think I would like to go then too maybe?? but in for the Jan dates
