Hey guys ive been lurking on here for a month or so now. Looks like you guys host some fun event/meets/ Looking forward to attending soon!

I have a few questions before i dive off the deep end of modding my tacoma. I have been apart of many different forums/groups and i know how annoying it can be for the same questions to be asked over and over but it seems i cant find a straight answer on here.

I am looking to lift my tacoma and from what ive read I want to do the bilstein 5100's front and rear, 885 coils, and 1.5" AAL in the rear. I am looking to fit 285/70R17's and the truck to sit pretty much even. Maybe a tiny ass heavy. I will be doing a lot of highway driving (i am in sales) and i want the ride to be as good as stock or better.

Anyways im probably beating a dead horse here but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks and I look forward to meeting some of you soon! :D

I see it's an '07 DCSB but is it 2WD or 4WD? SR5, TRD OFF ROAD or SPORT?

ive done a ton of reading today and still cant seem to get the gist of this. what is the advantage or spindles? Can i do the regular bilstein setup without the spindles? if i do go spindles do i have to get new shocks/springs?

im really just looking to fit 285/70r17's and not have a huge lift

spindles will give you the lift with out all the driveline angle problems that most of us get by not going spindles. (mainly because I have a 4x4 and can't do spindles)

Someone else will have to answer the rest as that is all I know about them.

With Spindles you can keep you stock set up up front no need to change springs or shocks or anything up front. That's the advantage of spindles. just need to change the rear. That headstrong spindle kit has everything you need. Also, depends on how high you want to go. Billies max out at 2.5. Plus you will stiffen your ride the higher you go with billies. A comfortable setting on billies is at around 1.75...Spindles will keep you ride comfort in tact. check out the recent install we did on blktaco. his truck came out great!

Hey just saw this so welcome to TW from Clearwater.

As far as the lift I agree with everyone else, go with spindles. K9 explained it good plus you can add 5100's later if you want to go higher. You'll probably rub with 2.5" & 285's, I did with a 3" spacer lift. I switched to 5100's (set at 1.75) with maxtrac spindles & I'm glad I did, I love them & no more rubbing.

Heres a couple local threads btw.
