Just got my new 2012 Taco on Saturday. Decided to replace all the filters. This is off a truck with only 13,000 miles. Leaves and all, I had no idea they got that dirty that quick.
This is the cabin filter vs. a new one.

 

Looks good. I got your message, I will take care of it tomorrow, sorry to take so long replying. But as for the filter, I have seen them last anywhere from 5k to 30k depending on environment and whether you keep your air on fresh or recirculate. I have a customer with a solara that needs one at every oil change.

 

You're lucky you even got a cabin filter with yours. I ended up putting one of those re-sizable, custom cut ones from home depot in mine. I just wash it out every other month.

Hi buddy.

Your a/c filter sounds better than some i have seen. When you have people come in that have cut up a household a/c filter to put in place of one that is supposed to be there. The thing falls into the blower motor and causes more damage than good.

I know, i've seen it. It's an OK idea if they do it right, but the ones i have seen look like my 5 year old cut them up and shoved it in for the person.

No, not yours. But even with what i have seen, the customers are always very proud of their creation. To each their own.

I rented some giant Yukon XL for the trip to Atlanta, and I really enjoyed having the bigger cab and all that room in the front. Now...how to realistically sell the Tacoma is the question.

How about you man? Did you get your roof done? I saw the hood, I dig it.

 

No, havent done the roof yet, still tweaking the hood. I redid it once to get rid of the overlap lines and now its kinda blotchy. So i want to redo it one more time. If that doesnt do it, then i am going to look into getting my guy in Oviedo to do it in vinyl. But I really do enjoy the look and reduced glare in the mornings.

 

You could go with a flat black vinyl. That would look legit. Hell you could even get dark gray vinyl lettering on top of it that follows the hood scoop lines up the truck that says "TacomaTech31" or something.

 

If i do it, it will definitely be in flat black. The flat gray would look cool to add something, but no name, maybe a decal or something. Maybe a 1" strip right down the middle to creat almost a racing strips type look. Who knows, the possiblities are endless.
