    ^

I tried some of their crackers...actually I ate one and then immediately threw the rest in the trash.
I would highly recommend avoiding "Mary's Gone Crackers" ....and any product with "sticks and twigs" in the name

Did you know that GF foods are tax deductible? If you itemize your taxes you can include a percentage of your food costs since its a medical need....of course you have to have the tests/documentation to back it up and receipts from the purchases.

While I've never tried their pretzels, I've had good luck with the Glutino brand. Just about everything of theirs that I've tried I've liked.

I could offer a suggestion from where you could buy your gluten free products. I usually buy my pastas, baking mixes, cookies, breads from Gluten Free Palace online. You can buy these products online so it saves a lot of time and money. :) They also have some recipes on their website which I think you could try out.

I miss Rubio's fish tacos, so I'm always on the lookout for a decent beer batter for fish.

Anheuser-Busch sells Red Bridge beer which is GF. I don't drink so I can't comment on how it tastes compared to other beers.

Take a cup of Bob's Red Mill GF All Purpose Flour, stir in garlic powder and ground red or black pepper to taste, then wisk the mix into a cup of beer.

Wash and dry your fish (cod was recommended, I used tilapia). Cut it into 1-1/2 oz pieces. Dip the pieces in the batter and drop them into your favorite fryer between 350-375. Cook until golden and then drain. The batter adheres perfectly and looks great!

I make a quick and dirty slaw with shredded cabbage, mayo and lemon juice to taste.

Toast some corn tortillas. Drop 2 pieces of fish on a tortilla, add your favorite taco sauce and then the slaw.

I don't miss Rubio's so much anymore! Now if only I could find a GF substitute for malt vinegar, I could have some fish and chips.

Oh, and the Red Bridge is good for 110 days after manufacture provided that you keep it cold. The date of manufacture on the beer label is in the bottom left with the year followed by the Julian date.

I'll have to try those too. Always looking for good snacks to keep in the truck and in my backpack.

Saving money would be great! I try not to look at the price tags on the GF foods.... :frusty:

Thanks for sharing! If you don't like the ummm....side effects....of the Bob's flour the King Arthur brand and Pamela's brand are great too.

Must be nice to live in a big city :pout:

I thought gluten-free diets were for people with Celiac disease.

Is it, for some reason, becoming trendy to not eat gluten? Did the bad batch of gluten from China in dog food scare people into thinking all wheat products are bad for us?

    Please...

Aside from people with Celiac gluten free diets can help people with gluten allergies and intolerances.

I have hated baking since going GF back in 2004. The products available back then were just awful, and the only thing I could make that was any good was Bob's Red Mill bread mix (which is pretty good).

I'm glad to see more mixes available for us, and places like Whole Foods selling GF Bakehouse stuff.

Well, today things changed. I'm a fan of Alton Brown's Good Eats show, and Friday they re-ran an episode where he made Devil's Food cake from scratch. There are a few eye-opening ingredients (like mayo and sour cream), but I decided to give it a try.

I had to look up another recipe for GF cake flour before I could even get started, but the result is amazing! This is a no compromise cake, and you'll never be able to tell that it is GF. I substituted the same weight of GF cake flour and GF All purpose flour for the flours in the recipe but I made no other changes.

    Here's his recipe page: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/alton-brown/devils-food-cake-recipe/index.html

Watch his video on the recipe page too as it makes the recipe make more sense.

Oh, and find 11 people to help you eat it. Just 1/12 of the cake is 514 calories including frosting by my calculations.

as stated by Cain above Paleo is the way to go, I don't have a gluten intolerance but eat paleo for the gym performance and health benefits. Bought a cookbook bout a month ago "Practical Paleo" Best investment ever. Really simple recipes that taste amazing.
