Would you guys prefer to have free beer and one type of drink for free (unlimited quantity) or have a full bar where you had to pay for your drinks?

Last wedding I went to had free beer and you had to pay for drinks, which I was fine with. My fiancee thinks it's kind of trashy to ask people to pay for drinks. I'm hoping most people will side with me on here so I can show her it's retarded to force people into a couple choices of booze at a wedding and that people won't mind paying. Thanks for reading.

    complimentary beer and wine.

if you think its trashy to pay then dont offer anything else. if not, then offer other drinks for a price

open bars are the best..Last wedding I went to was a cash bar, needless to say it was a boring wedding. Something like $6 for a beer, $9 for a mixed drink.

If i'm attending your wedding...i want free booze

If i'm paying for the wedding...the rest of you bastards can pay for your own damn booze

But then, the last wedding I went to, my friends and I killed the complimentary bar within the first hour of the reception...the grooms dad had to leave to go buy more

You guys are quick. I'd still have free beer and wine if we had a paid bar. I just think paying for a bar would be too expensive.

Keep it under control. If you can afford it, free beer and wine, and champagne for the bridal party. Alcohol will be one of the most expensive parts of the wedding. Anybody and I mean anybody that gets upset that there is only beer and wine or that they may have to pay for their own drinks, you don't want at your wedding anyway. My .02 cents.

Skip the hard alcohol all together. Stay with free beer and wine. That is what I am doing this summer. It takes people a little longer to get fucked up on beer and wine when you have a limited supply

So you are saying the first option won't have a full bar? You have to go with option 2, full bar, people can pay for what they want or have free beer.

Yeah, you don't want to be stuck with Uncle Alchy's bar tab.

Open bar always makes for some good stories! I've been to a couple weddings where it was open bar for a few hours then switched to cash. Wasn't bad, made people somewhat sober up toward the end of the night. I come from a big, Irish family so I'd hate to foot the bill for an open bar at a wedding...

Let people pay for their own drinks. If they don't like the free beer and wine that you give them, and they can't have a good time without their special mix, then they can either pay for it themselves or go home.
Use the money you save on your truck.

At my wedding I also has open bar for the first few hours, and then cash afterwards. I don't drink, so I had a hard time paying for other people's booze, but was kind of pressured into doing the free first bar. It worked out okay.

    Do this.

A buddy just recently got married. Everyone had to pay for their own beer, wine, drinks. I thought it was kind of tacky, although I don't really drink much, so really made little difference to me. He is a HEAVY drinker, and so are most of his friends, so I understand why he did it that way. As long as your guest list consists of reasonable people who won't drink you out of house and home, hook everyone up with beer and wine and let them buy their own cocktails.
