Ever tried your hand at a nice dunkel weiß during this time of year? I know a nice wheat is great during warmer months, but i find a warm dark wheat great this time of year as well. If you haven't tried one, i would suggest "Erdinger Dunkel" its one of my fav's from Erdinger, who also happens to be one of my fav breweries of all time.

Lets do it buddy! takes about 4 hours to prep and brew total. One hour of actual wort boil, and one hour to get it in the carboy. Its easier than people say.. and afterwards you have 52 twelve oz bottles of top quality beer!

    RIP Lucy.
    She's gone but not forgotten.
When i first got out of the Air Force I lived with my "second" family, and the guy was in his 60s. He couldn't drink regular beer 'cause of an allergy to something in it. But he could drink Hamms, guess they use something else instead of the ingredient he couldn't drink. Many a time we'd lean on his old beat to hell Ford pickup and just sip Hamms. He passed away a few years ago but every time I think of him I picture a cold sweating Hamms can in his hand. Good memories.

They are local out of San Diego, but they have all of their stuff online, and also produce "Ballast Point" beers, which are all fine IMHO.

I'll put a plug in for www.morebeer.com and www.northernbrewer.com - both have excellent forums, too. If any of you are interested in learning how to brew (or just want a place to discuss and learn more about brewing great beer) you are welcome to join us on those forums. A lot of excellent brewers there and lots of friendly advice.

Boulevard Brewing Co. is right up the road from my work.
I like their pale ale wheat draft with a bit of lemon.
