I live in the Tampa Bay area and do not hunt... does anyone know where i can get some deer meat to try? Ive only gotten it once and my Dad made jerky of it... Not saying it wasnt good, but would like to try it other ways.

    Thanks!

I don't think you can buy it anywhere. You will have to have someone give you some

if you have any local processing plants that do personal meat processing you can call them.

i know that the place that does my work will sell any meat not picked up within 7 days of being completed.

granted it will most likely be in sausage or ground form and not any backstraps.

Coming from a meat man, you should try your local butcher shop or speciality meat market. It can be ordered. However, this will be farm raised deer and you can expect to pay high dollar for it. As for deer processors selling peoples meat, that's illegal in some states to sell meat from wild game. Also if somebody special orders it for you they might make you buy a whole case or most of it.

There's an exotic meat store in San Antonio. Try to find one near you.
I'd rather have gator than deer, but I take what I can hit:)

How much are you willing to pay for it? I cant get you a fresh slab this time of year, but I might be able to wrangle up some frozen stuff

i think it is time to start thinking about hunting. for truly wild meat, there is no other way. someone will need to hunt it.

not legal to sell it, so you cant buy it from some hunter. i see it at some of our stores, but i imagine it is farmed.

    Need I say more?

And if it weren't for insanely expensive deer lease prices (worth every penny though) I would rather eat deer/hog/dove/quail/ etc than domesticated meat.
