    Do dishwashers really dull the blades on knives? It's just hot water and the soap isn't really all that strong especially since they took the phosphates out. Also do you all rinse your plates off before you put them in the dishwasher?

    yes, the dishwasher detergent is actually pretty gritty and if some of it sits on the blade after the wash it will cause some rust spots even on stainless. I used to put my old cheapo blades in there cause I didn't care. They would come out with some rust spots every once in a while.

    ^^that ...plus the machine really moves the knives around. them bouncing against things..no bueno.

    No more taco life for me
    if you spent money on your knives and/or dont want to spend money again on knives, hand wash them.
