I was just curious if anyone besides myself was a scotch drinker? If so what is your favorite?
Good scotch can be pricey so what's your go to "daily" brand?
My daily drinks are dewars (blended highland) or lismore (single malt Speyside). So far my favorite overall is the Glenlivet with Buchanan's in second.

I was just thinking about having a scotch after work. I'm not familiar with real high end or rare scotch but I like The Glenlivet and Macallan. With one small ice cube in it.

    ahhh, the brown water.

Favorite is Auchentoshan, well worth trying.
    Like a Glenmorangie or Macallan.
Canada has some 'scotch' too, that is rather good. Glen Breton Rare.

Buddy just bought me a Glenlivet 21 year old. Probably the best ever for my taste. Special occasion stuff.

    Great thread idea.

I like a very "smokey" flavor to my scotch which is why I like dewars for a day to day drink. I really want to try the Mac allan as I have heard it's good.

i like JW black for an everyday drink.

i like the bolder mouthfeel. the blue label seems too smooth.

been tasting the japanese ones lately. super good. yamazaki..

but i try not to drink to much anymore.

This one's my favorite (neat, with a tiny splash of water), although I had some Macallan 18 around Christmas last year, and it was pretty awesome.

Macallan 12yr is my regular scotch but I have a bottle of 18yr Oban that I'll hit on special days and if the wind is blowing just right there is a bottle of 25yr Macallan in the safe.

Glennfiddich 12 is always in the cabinet.
    Talisker is nice, but smokey
Dalmore 10 is very smooth (for a 10yo)
    Lagavulin 18

I will echo the sentiments of Macallans and Oban. Really can't go wrong with a 12+yo single malt.

I try and stay away from the blends and stick with the singles.

just had a couple glasses of glenlivet the other night at a wedding very smooth and mellow with a nice taste on the back end. Never had it before, but now I will need to add it to my list.

I keep a bottle of Glenfiddich 12 around for a regular nip.

Want to try a bottle of Glen Breton simply because it's the only single malt actually made in Canada, I just haven't been able to justify the 80 bucks a quart to the missus.

My wife surprised me with a bottle of the Dewars honeyed 18 year old. Its not what you think. Its not like other honey liqours. It tastes very smooth. It does have a hint of a honey flavor but is not sweet. It also has a bit of a nutty taste that adds balance. Haven't tried it on the rocks yet. I'm odd in that I usually drink my scotch straight. Sometimes I might add a little ginger ale depending on what I'm drinking.
