I just recently started eating dogs. The ballpark angus beef franks have been my favorite so far, and I just throw them on this old George Forman. What are you doing better??

Premium oscar mayer beef franks, boiled like pasta.... try it. Its easy and imposible to burn them. Plus its how they are cooked in carts and ball parks. If you want to get fancy, steam the buns too.

I'll give them a try, your way. I like a burnt edge and flavor profile but I'm open to change. TY

This. Brats are much better than dogs.
However, for dogs I don't like them boiled; grilled is the preferred way to go.
I don't have specific favorites, sometimes all beef, and sometimes the turkey/pork ones to get a little variation.

I would however add; as with most other processed meats, keep in mind that processed foods contain lots of nitrates and nitrites, and this has been linked to GI cancer - not to rain on the thread party, but if you can, look for the hot dogs or other processed foods for that matter that are nitrate free.

chedder werst or chedder and jalepeno werst are another good option. i like em grilled or fried in a cast iron skillet. also i like to slice em up and fry them then make an omlet out of it or put it in a bowl of grits. much more versitile than a hot dog, and about the same money.

Kayem all beel natural casing dogs. usually grilled but if weather doesn't permit, I will boil them.
I prefer grill as the swell and split, holds more toppings that way.

We get ours from a local meat house. Natural casing, then cooked on the griddle and turned throughout the cooking process (don't pierce them). I can't eat the majority of the commercial brands messes my stomach up big time.

What is the deal with natural casings? Is that where the nitrates come in to play?

For actual hot dogs, as opposed to brats, I like Hebrew National.
