never been to either of these chains, they don't exist around me. However, if near the chicago area check out portillo's. Excellent burgers.

As a former Californian, who was raised on In-N-Out, I must declare that 5 Guys is superior. My Dad, who also grew up with In-N-Out, agrees. Cajun fries and A1 sauce for the burger FTW. Favorite burger is a bacon/cheese with A1, grilled onions, and grilled mushrooms.

Plus, bonus points to 5 Guys for being nationwide.

If you have peanut allergies then I wouldn't go into a 5 Guys. The peanuts are out in the open and I'm sure there's particulate floating around in the air.

If you're near Chicago then there's a 5 Guys somewhere not too far from you.

Try being allergic to seafood when your family LOVES to eat it. IT really sucks.

Not that this would dissuade anyone...but...did you know that one regular Five Guys hamburger is 700 CALORIES!!! A bacon cheeseburger is 920 and a large order of fries is OVER 1400 calories!!!

here's the whole breakdown if anyone is really interested =) sorry to burst your bubble...

love five guys and that is usually our sunday drunk/hung-over lunch - really puts a good coat of grease in the stomach... oh and not to mention it is amazing! I've had In N Out up north before and I dunno just something about having a Five Guys around here (southeast) that makes it that much better.
