'Juicy' as a descriptive term for food

Am I the only one who's stomach turns when some foods are described as 'juicy'?

I mean, when a burger is described as juicy on a menu, what is the juice exactly? Don't they mean 'greasy'?

And 'plump, juicy chicken breast'. Dare I ask?

Fruits described as juicy - good.

Meat described as juicy - not good.

Juicy Fruit I suppose. That or maybe juicy tomatos. Juicy burgers makes me think of all the grease that comes spilling out of a big mac.

Go to Sonic or McD's and it is pure processed grease. Good burgers have a bit of grease..and some of the natural hydration of the meat (water/blood).

Plus- What sounds more appetizing...a burger that drips a little bit...or a burger that it hard like a hockey puck and dry like a desert....I'd rather have to wipe a bit of grease off my chin than drown my burger with my drink.

The juice that is referenced is the natural water (or blood) that meat should retain during the cooking process. As a matter of fact, the "juice" from the fruit that you love so much is not too far off from the "juice" of any meat product. Don't be afraid of it, it just means that you'll recieve a properly cooked burger or chicken or pork cut. If you eat meats that are dry and don't leech a little bit of liquid...you're eating overcooked meat.

I like juicy!! I hate anything that's dry or dried out....so I prefer juicy.
Whether it be a juicy medium well burger with 'moisture' (not dripping with grease) and not dried out..... or a medium to rare steak dripping like its still mooing - Oh yeah.... To extra sauce on my cheesesteak, extra gravy on my potatoes.... Juicy!

Foods are juicy. "Moist" is used to describe disgusting things, like sweaty underwear, ugh.

I know what you mean. And what about tasty, I hate it when they describe food as tasty. Don't they mean not bland.

I do get what you are saying, but I don't agree. A juicy burger is where its at.
