    Congrats!!!

I work for a process piping company out of the Sacramento area. Started when I was 17. We do stainless pipe and fractional tubing. Specialize in breweries, wineries, and other food and beverage. I've been all over the states. I was out your way in Asheville, NC last year working on the new Sierra Nevada brewery.

nice job! I work mostly in heating/ cooling with a touch of process tube thrown in. its a lot of food-plant stuff so decent amount of stainless.

finishing a chilled water job at a college right now that is all Victaulic so I haven't touched the welder for a few months! kind of how it goes for me but my eyes are open toward oil work or boilermaker. . . . . .

what mess did you find yourself in? looking at your tests im guessing boilers?

I fabricate elevator shafts for my job. Mainly the agricultural type. Everything is 1/4" or thicker steel for the structures. Don't do any stainless or aluminum.

Got tired of the problems with my miller machines and my buddy works for snap-on so I got a chance to use one for a bit before buying. Unbelievable welder. 100% duty cycle at full amperage.

Thanks guys. Where I live theres plenty of nuke work to go around so I ended up at a local Plumber and Steamfitters Union after earning an Associates Degree in welding. Had never touched stainless until 8 weeks ago when I started training at the union. Kicked my butt at first but I'm not a fan of carbon anymore

Hydraulics are very simple. If it has the proper amount of fluid in it--> Either the pump is bad or the ram isn't sealed anymore.

Does anybody have any experience using an arc welder for aluminum? I know it can be done. I've heard of people doing it. I haven't done much welding in quite a while so I have a feeling it's out of my skill level. Just wondering if any of you have, and just general info on it.
