I'm going to be building a two door gate for my backyard. Tonight I will set the posts, and when I come back from vacation I will finish up the rest of it.

Put in a complete new a/c system as the original one was old & clanky. Replaced a split system with a rooftop unit. All new ducting, and a few new registers. Here's some pics of lifting it up there, of course the Taco played a part in it all:

I also got a new closet out of the deal - I got some useful space, something that there's not much of in these older houses.

And then today I installed an attic fan. The long, hot summer is on it's way.

    Painted 1/3 of the garage.

The wifely sort wanted to paint too. Up to that point, she had only seen me prepping and cutting in the edges.

She's so precious, she thought it would be fun. So I gave her a roller to play with the paint, after 5 minutes she discovered it wasn't fun and gave up. Now I had two walls partially covered with paint. Had to pick up the slack there, then finish the other wall.

We're getting ready to sell the house, still have a laundry list of fixerups to do.

Last night I pulled the lower 2 feet of siding off of 1 side of my garage and replaced with OSB. Hopefully I won't have any more cats coming in to visit my garage now. I also pulled a muscle in my back when I was pulling up roots next to my garage.

Next I get to replace the upper 8" of siding on the garage to try to keep the squirrels out. I may be able to get the garage rain tight by the end of the week :yay:

I installed a garbage disposal over the weekend. The house didn't have one, so I had to run electric from the 20amp service the dishwasher was hooked too. I tapped into that and then added an electric outlet under the sink to plug the disposal into. Next, I installed the disposal and redid part of the plumbing. It was the first time I worked on any plumbing to speak of and it was a kind of a pain-mainly because I didn't have everything I needed and Lowes is 12 miles away. I used one of the In-sink-erator air switches to control the disposal which made it much simpler-I didn't have to tie into an electric switch above the sink. Everything turned out well however and my wife loves her new In-sink-erator Septic disposal :)

The weekend before that, my dad & I poured a 3'x7' extension for our sidewalk to run all the way to the gravel driveway. It was stepping stones previously, which I hated. I personally handled and mixed in a wheelbarrow about 1100 lbs of concrete in 95 degree heat-it sucked! Next year, I hope to have our driveway blacktopped.

Over the past couple days, I've tried my hand at installing cabinets. They're turning out quite nice.
A couple years ago I framed in part of our back porch, replaced windows and the door. The carpet, since then had taken a beating. I recently, installed vinyl flooring and now the cabinets to replace the open shelves.

I poured 6 yrds of concrete this past weekend for my top patio and I'm pouring the other 8 yrds of it this weekend. Then I will finally be done with concrete :woot:

Just saw this thread...pretty cool. I built this last summer...took about a month of working on the weekends.

Thanks it was a lot of work, those 4 x 6 beams were a pain to get right on the roof angles. At $25 a piece, I couldn't afford to get the angles wrong...we had a full scaffolding system which made it a little easier, but those suckers are heavy!

I have recently rid my house of a bad flea infestation. It was absolutely horrible. Then again, I guess we probably should move the mattress and vacuum under there at least once every 4 years.

I also have the future baby's room emptied and cleaned. I'll likely tape it off tomorrow and put on the first coat of paint Monday evening.
