Just wondering if anyone has done this:

In my garage, I use an old, round kerosene heater. It is flat on top. Over the years, we learned that setting empty cans on top (beer cans in this case) produces more heat. The cans act like a heat sync. I 'evolved', if you will, to using old computer CPU heat syncs. This worked well. Now that I live in the DC area (from Little Rock) the winters are a bit colder. I know someone that has set an old anvil on top of his and another that set a large old metal can up-side-down on his, both report outstanding results. The anvil, I would imagine, takes a while to heat up but would hold the heat and produce more than the up-side-down can. What are yall's thoughts? (I know there are many ways to heat a garage, many probably better than a kerosene heater, but that is what I have for now.) BTW, I bought an empty paint can to try the up-side-down can trick...

meh we just use a salamander to heat the garage.

a heat sinc makes sense. one thing that helps is they make thermal fans for a stove. the rising heat causes the blades to turn and the fan "blows" the heat around the room
