OBDII reader needed. CA sucks!

    So apparently it is illegal to go to autozone and rent a code reader... and this is only in california... seriously california?! REALLY?! Anyways, my buddys car has a CEL and he needs to just have the code read and then figure out what to do about it. Anyone know of somewhere in the san jose area that will read a code for free or cheap?

    Do you have an Android Phone by any chance? The Torque app is only $4.99 (Bluetooth OBD2 reader is around $15). Cheapest way to go if you want your own...

    I do want to buy one, just not in the cards right now. And no I dont, otherwise I would have torque! Thats such a cool app
