I always use 3M and the body shop I worked at used that also to stick on decals, like the "Tacoma" on the door panel.

3m... grey with red liner, available in widths from 1/8" to 2".
The stuff has been holding badges and body trim to new vehicles for 20 years.

Theirs is not the 3M product.
It looks and somewhat acts the same, but I have had problems with it sticking.

Depending on how strong it needs to be, 3M sells a "primer" adhesion promoter that it intended to be brushed onto the surface prior to application.

With that stuff and the 3M tape, it is not coming off EVER without serious persuasion.

Interesting. Chino (at least a year ago) did not have the 3M brand.

Yep. They never carried the actual 3m brand for the longest time, but for some reason they had it last time I bought it lol

Anyone have an actual link or photo of this tape? I am removing badges and want to make sure I have the correct 3m tape that everyone is talking about!

I used that same stuff to mount my eyelids to my truck.

As was stated. This is a one stop shop application. Short of JB Welding something to your truck this is next best thing.

I have always used "servo" tape from RC car stores. It is thinner, black, and sticks very well. If the surfaces are clean you will rip the middle (foam?) in half before it the sticky comes off. And being thinner it is harder to rip the foam portion apart

They even use VHB (Very High Bond) to hold architectural elements together. I saw an ad for 3M where they used VHB to hold a highway sign to its uprights. The uprights had bent over from a hurricane, but the sign was completely connected.
