Review: Seville 6FT Toolbox/Workbench (Sam's Club)

Recently I had a hankering to get a new toolbox for work. I have/had a bunch of cheaper, dented in shipping, boxes and service cart.

I previously had a Blue Point service cart. I purchased it as a damaged item from Snap-On. It was dented on the bottom pan. Cart still rolled fine, stood fine. I sold the cart this past Sunday. Put it on CL Sunday morning, was sold by 1pm the same day.

I still currently have the basic craftsman 2 tier setup, the big bottom drawer has gotten jacked up from to much weight in it.

I also still currently have a Snap-On side cabinet that is very old, no working lock that I bought off CL quite awhile ago now. I just throw junk it it. I like it and will be keeping it.

So...I began to look at Snap-On boxes.

Was looking at a $2300.00 Heritage Roll Cab

Then I got to looking at other stores and what they had. Lowes, Horror Frieght, etc...nothing exciting.

Then I looked around on CL. Came upon an ad for a box exactly like a tech had at the first shop I worked at. Guy wanted $300 for it and I remembered that the tech mentioned earlier had said he picked his box from Sam's Club, went to the website to price compare.

A new one? $399.98

Thats right...$400.00 (half the price of the big box from Horror Feight)

Here is a pic of the totally assembled box/bench. It is not mine.

Review:
I feel like I can review a bit since I've seen this box in action previously. Will go into more detail after a bit of use.

-You must put the box together yourself. I'm still in the process of getting mine put together. I have the big part done, I'm down getting the drawers together. Everything has gone together well so far. Many little screws, but no fitment issues. Bolts/screws are a little cheap, but ehh.

-Purchase of box/bench comes with drawer liners included (a nice feature I found as I blew all my $$ on the box, nothing left for liners)

-Highly enjoy the hardwood top. I will end up covering it somehow. Maybe a large sheet of that clear plastic to proctect the top.

-Very sturdy box/bench. Have it upright on the casters and it has a good solid feel to it.

Nice afforable bench. Is it not an end grain top? I would think It would hold up decently. How heavy is it?

The top is not plywood or anything like that if thats what that means.

Box weights 320Lbs

3 of us to get in the bed of truck (me and 2 small guys/employees)
2 of us to get into work (me and another bigger guy)

Adding to the review:
The slides also have good feel to them, slide out nicely with no hang ups or rought going. Very smooth.

I have had one of these for a year and it is holding up very well under moderate use. In fact, I've been so happy with it I just added two of the wall cabinets.

I am thinking about buying one of these for work where a lot of people like to borrow my tools. Does all of the drawers lock or just the middle cabinet?

Only the center cabinet locks. There are no locks on the drawers.
