inswing vs outswing

I currently have an interior door leading to my garage from my house. Its not sealed or anything and it swings out into my garage from my house.

I'm going to replace it with a fiberglass external door thats sealed.

Nobody has outswing doors. They are all special order around here. Can i take an inswing door and just mount it backwards? The threshold at the bottom would technically be on the wrong side, but i dont think that would really matter.

The special order doors are upwards of $100 more than the in stock doors.

I dont know, but I have always thought it was stupid to have exterior doors open in. Makes it a lot easier for people to kick in and harder for escape in an emergency.....

Back on topic, if it would work, I think you would have to get the opposite swing(ie left vs right hinged) and as you said, mount it backwards. Since I have just reread your post I find that my rant on exterior doors is invalid, but I'm not feeling like erasing it. I'm just lazy enough to type a correction that takes about 5 times as long to do rather than simply deleting.....
