recessed lighting

I have recessed lights in my kitchen one goes off on its own as if the bulb blew then may come back on in a few minutes or a few hours. It makes a click when this happens. Is this a bad can light, connection or what? Thanks

most likely the lamp isn't making good contact with the tab at the bottom of the lamp holder. turn the light off and bend the tab out slightly.

come to think of it this is the more likely scenario.

This is thermal protection, I believe those recess light that the electrician put in have not clear the insulation around the light, so when it start hot, it will shut the light off, and when it cool down it will turn back on.
Like the guy above me said, may be you or someone put in a light bulb that max out the recess light, usually 50 or 55w
May be you can try some dim LED light bulb.
