I just cut last weekend and am hoping it will be the last cut of the year.

Honestly, run it out of gas. Put a fuel stabilizer in the tank with any fuel that's left. If your real nervous, start it for a few minutes every few weeks, not going to hurt anything.

I'm still using mine for helping with leaf clean up.

Sounds like a plan. Thanks man. Seems easier then changing the oil and everything else for now.

I run non-ethanol with stabil in it at all times. THankfully our winters in the south are not very cold.. I do have to put antifreeze in my Rider though.. Water cooled Deere runs very quiet and lasts forever, but cannot forget to prep the radiator for the winter in the rare occasion we have a hard freeze

I just generally use an ethanol treatment such as Star-tron or Sta-bil as i use mine for leaves also. Typically change the oil in the spring before mowing season starts but i was bored Sunday and did a complete tune up on it. Mine is just a Craftsman 6.5hp pusher though. Ya'll probaly talking riders.

Run it dry, fill it up with fresh fuel/Startron, and store it. I buy 93 octane fuel for my small engine stuff as well, seems to help.

i run mine dry on gas and change the oil after the last cut so the dirty oil and contaminants dont sit in there all winter long.
