Drive gear for garage door just broke

The gear broke apart from the drive housing. What are my options? Do I have to buy a whole new motor? FML

I'd say yes, but I'm not sure. Others will tune in with more helpful answers I'm sure.

I ended up buying a Champberlain Whisper Drive. My wife wanted a quieter opener anyway.

My house needs a new one soon. I have a feeling it is going to go on us soon. It's like 18 years old

Get a 1/2 hp or 3/4 hp Chamberlain Whisper Drive. It's belt driven so it's super quiet. I bought mine at Lowe's and it came w/ 2 preprogammed remotes, outdoor keypad, garage mult-functional control, and remote garage door indicator. It was $198. I had to buy an extension kit since my garage door is 8 ft. But the package is setup for up to 7 ft.

Thanks for the info. Not a bad deal. I'll keep it in mind.
