Can anybody recommend a good brand or place to get them? I was given a Delta 12" wood lathe a couple weeks ago and can't use it because I don't have any chisels/gouges. I've never used one before either, so I've got some reading to do too.

    Thanks in advance

I have used those for just about everything. They are great. I attest to the shatter proof handles working. While they are bench chisels, they could have limited applications on the lathe as scrapers or skews.

For nice turning equipment, try Ashley Iles.
