I aquired a hydraulic pump, tank and some hoses from work so I decided to make a log splitter....I bought an engine, cylinder, valve, wedge and lovejoys, tires and ofcourse the I beam. I have $450 into it.
Here is the progress sofar....waiting for wedge and cyl to come..
parts are only mocked up after I get it all set I will break it down for sanding and paint.

Will your splitter be the kind you have to lift the wood up or the kind that will tilt and split on the ground?

It's just hard to tell from the pictures.
