Drive gear for garage door just broke

    The gear broke apart from the drive housing. What are my options? Do I have to buy a whole new motor? FML:mad:

    intermittent wipers,hood protector,fog lights, wheel skins
    this happened to me in the past you can get parts for your opener i replaced the fbre drive gears in mine

    Yeah...Depending on how old the unit is you should be able to get replacement parts. Take a photo of what you at looking at for broken parts and post it...Might be able to give you a better idea.

    Excellent choice- I have a chamberlain chain drive and even that is quiet.

    Get a 1/2 hp or 3/4 hp Chamberlain Whisper Drive. It's belt driven so it's super quiet. I bought mine at Lowe's and it came w/ 2 preprogammed remotes, outdoor keypad, garage mult-functional control, and remote garage door indicator. It was $198. I had to buy an extension kit since my garage door is 8 ft. But the package is setup for up to 7 ft.
