Can anyone shed some light on what material they used for their satoshi grill? meaning has anyone just used expanded sheet metal instead of a grillcraft mesh grill? what gauge, size of holes, metal (steel or aluminum)?

I've been looking all over the net and the best price I can find is $156 for the grillcraft insert.... :( F that

any other price saving tips would be appreciated....

    THX

forgot i already had some pictures. i primered the metal and painted it black. i clear coated the plastic surround, but did not clear the expanded steel....figured that way i can jsut paint right over it if i get a rock chip or something. i also smoked a set of OR lights and put them behind it. with the larger holes of the expanded steel, they really shine through well.

thanks clayton, i've been happy with the expanded....it's also nice that you can get a 4'x8' sheet of it for the price of one grill's worth of vehicle-speciffic mesh. hope your install goes well :)
