Ugh...G/F Totalled the tC on the Track

Lol your acquaintance is a dumbass I wouldn't be suprised if my she conjures up some kind of similar plan.

 

Since she's okay....You'll have to let me know if it's totalled and she wants to part out or not...I'm lookin for a couple pieces...O=)

 

What are you looking for? I haven't seen the car but the front end took the impact - I dunno how hard though. If its a hopeless write-off and she decides to part it out I'll PM you.

Do you guys think this is really a write off? Both airbags deployed. She said that a fire started under the hood. There is also some damage to the right rear fender.

She didn't get any shots of the front or under the hood.

I'm thinking that if the shock towers are straight, suspension wasn't damaged and the motor wasn't pushed back, that this may still be salvageable?

 

Wow, sorry to hear man...Just curious though, what track is that? I race bikes and my gf races her M3..I have never seen a track with barriers like that. That is scary, I dont think I would ride my bike there, I lowside at 100 and slide into those, its lights out.

Good luck, the damage doesnt look all that bad, but it depends on the frame conditon.

 

that is scary to have those barriers, but i see why, you wouldnt want someone flying off their curve into your straight.

Most the tracks over here are open enough to not have those rails, just dirt and ditches

LOL...You know the little plastic handle to fold the front seats?? I need one of those....Pretty sure the only way I'm going to find one is a wreck or seat swap.

Dude that sucks. Glad to hear she's ok. Hope everything works out for you.

 

Its Summit Point. I've never been there but she showed me the course map a few days ago. There are some curves where a car that lost control could reenter the track further down. I'm not sure what the barriers there look like or how much grass/sand there is once you leave pavement.

A close friend of mine lost one of his club friends there due to brake failure 2 years ago on the long straight.

Ok...so the car is still in a shop in Winchester. It will not start so I can't drive it up onto a dolly or car hauler.

Any ideas on how I can get the front end up onto a dolly? She can't find any car haulers for rent w/ a winch. I've considered pushing and rolling it up on there. I'd be doing the pushing so I'd be depending on her not to fuck this up. I'm kind of uncomfortable with taking that kind of chance on a favor. For an ex at that.

I'm not familiar with the fuel-shut off. How would it be reset?

 

i'm willing to bet it tripped on impact... its a safety switch that kills the fuel pump when it senses an impact.. check the owners manual and should show you where its located, then just reset it and give it a try again..
