So I got pulled over for my mud flaps being to small for my tires! At 930 at night the cop had nothing better to do? Really?! Anyway...I might be looking into getting some new flaps. Has anyone else had this problem? And suggestions for some new mud flaps? Or other suggestions that might help?

It's a fix it ticket in Colorado, but usually when you're missing flaps. Never heard of a "too short" rule. But I'd like to see pics. Colorado's the broken windshield capital of America because they mix gravel with the sand and salt come winter. And a pea sized quartz grain rocketing out of a tire at 60mph will put a pretty big bullseye in the windshield. If it happens in the cold of morning, it can be a full width crack come the thaw of afternoon. So I actually have a problem with guys who remove their flaps in Colorado, because the crap rocketing off their tires does a lot of damage to other people's cars.

Yeah my mudflaps are going back on along with the bed liner on the whole bottom 6" of my truck all the way around cuz of the damn rocks.

I've heard of this happening a lot. I personally would never write a ticket for that unless I could see the top of the rear tires from behind. Show pics.

Are you sure it was for mud flaps ?

Do your tires stick out past the fender flares? A lot of folks get pulled over for fender flares not covering the tires cuz they stick out too far.

Added extra awesomeness to its original awesomeness.
That sucks, I don't know what the flap laws are here. I've never heard of it happening to anyone other than an 18 wheeler.

Did you get a ticket? He may have been just looking for something else like a dwi or drugs and that was the only reason he had to stop you.

x2, 9 at night doesn't sound like the best time to spot a short mud flap.

At 9:30 at night how can he tell at a look that your mud flaps are too short? Sounds like he was using that as an excuse to stop you and hope to find something else.

I'm glad in Florida we don't have those laws.

In ohio, your tires can't stick out past the flares more than half of the first tread block. Not sure about flaps.
