Cabin air intake?

I was changing the cabin air filter in the 07 Corolla and found that mice had built a nest on the top of the filter ..Where is the end of the air intake ,I want to try and put screen over the inlet.Thanks

 

you have to take the cowl panel from under the windshield off, the intake will be right above where the filter is

 

Do you mean raise the hood and its that stainless steel wire mesh that runs across under the wipers?

 

and they can also get in from inside the car. You can't really keep mice out of anything. Screen it off and they might chew. Best thing to do is not leave the mc donalds bag in there... but if you live in a cold climate, there's a chance they will try to get in.

Once found a mole jammed up in the exhaust valve of my BMW moto. had a mouse chew through an air filter to live in my intake manifold. Crazy. Never mind the annual taking the car out of winter storage and removing blower motor to get the nests out before you turn on the fan.

You'd have to do more than raise the hood probably, without looking.
