Sooo shes sick and in the shop. Dad has a lifelong buddy who works for a ford dealership so hes taking care of us. Right now the diagnosis is that the ECM is bad and we are on the search for a new one. Hopefully this doesnt take too long.

That's a beautiful Bronco, bud. Great job turning it around. I've owned a 79, 87 and 95 myself. Working on maybe trying to get another one in the stable soon. Trying to decide which generation........

Soo the new computer is supposed to show up tomorrow...the one benefit of having buddies in the business is they treat you right. since it has been taking so long and they have already failed twice with new computers we arent being charged...hopefully this fixes it..I wanna drive muh damn truck!

Maybe I missed it but did you have to reflash or change a chip in the ECM with the engine mods?

Nothing major for the few engine mods.

Just a general tune and timing adjustment...not that it matters anymore that the computer is fried ahah

so we get the truck back...its running great...then the fucking thing overheats....FUCK

were hoping it just needs a new radiator as this is the original one from the truck. i think shes close to 170k.

when we replaced the engine we installed a new larger water pump to keep her cool. all hoses were replaced. new thermostat, and it only overheated while on the highway. normal driving and shes fine, and when she sits idling for a long time she runs cool. so were thinkin the radiator is clogged up and not flowing enough for the highway RPMS...

Have you tried any kind of chemical cooling system flush to make sure the coolant is making contact with metal rather than a layer of goop inside the block? It could help the overheating issue if it comes back up.

I would hope we would not have any goop build up already. The engine block is brand new ahah. Will keep that in mind tho thanks.
