Thanks, I drove a 6 speed auto last night, dam nice truck for a ford. Not ready just yet but not happy with toyotas anymore. Jim

 

If the new transmission goes in to the F150, I will pick one up for sure.

Not just Toyota, almost all of the Japanese automakers, have lost that "special feeling" they used to offer. I think it has to do with offering way to many platforms and options.

I like where Ford is heading, now that they have had what seems like a company wide overhaul.

8 speed? nice ford is stepping up their game hardcore. good for them. i stick with my yota's though.

 

Ford is making a lot tech. upgrades to their drive trains which is really cool. I just wish we could hear some of this type of news from Toyota. Pretty disappointing that V6 4x4 Tacoma gets very similar mpg to a full size F150. Toyota needs to come to the table quickly with some mpg improvements.

I'm in the market for a new truck, and I've been holding out for the 2012 Tacoma, with my fingers crossed. ...don't want to but I may have be force to take a look at the Fords.

Went to 5 dealers in the last 4 days, up to 9200 off list on a loaded 4x4, also throw in free 5year bumper to bumper.20 k trade for the taco with 42k on it ,365 H.P.,420F.P.T. ,22M.P.G.And can tow 11000lbs.Looks like ford will be kicking alot of ass.....

 

Weigh your options, the turbo is awesome but if you live in a really hilly/mountainous area, your MPGs are going to stay in the low teens. The 5.0L is the well rounded motor.

 

i read somewhere that its not gettin the 8 speed, but is getting a 6 speed automatic. although the f150 sounds like it will be a great buy, u still gotta remember its built by Ford, which will most likely break down before a 1st gen tacoma lol

 

I pulled right up to the new car sales department at the ford dealership on sunday and asked one of the salesmen standing outside "where dem raptors at" and he said they're getting some in soon and it'll "outperform the hell outta my truck" lol I wants Ford now
