    I just saw a new Chevy PU going down my street. It was a double cab, long wheel base, diesel, 4wd. The damn thing must have been 40 foot long. What the hell would a POS like that be good for?

    Yeah the duramax can tow huge trailers however they are next to impossible to park at the grocery store.

    Probably a work truck. I have been driving a Ford 250 Super Duty diesel 4x4 for work for the last 2 weeks, and I can tell you that thing drives really nice and smooth for such a big diesel engine. Nice for pulling big trailers and carrying 4 people + gear on desert roads. Gotta be very careful though, with the turbo on the highway you could be hitting 85mph without even noticing it, that thing barely makes a noise when it gets going!

    That said, it would be a terrible choice for a daily driver!

    Used to drive a 4 door F250 lwb 4x4 with the 7.3 diesel. Right before my Tacoma. Nice ride. Could haul plenty. And could pull down a house if that's what you felt like doing. It was a but rough on the billfold to work on.

    I agree. My folks have 2 Dodge Cummins 4 door 4x4's, and one is a long bed.....Used for pulling trialors, and travel cross country. One of them has an aux. tank, and increases the range without refueling to 1800 miles.

    Wow 1800?! I worked on a friend of mine family farm over the summer and we would load up the bed with the square hay bails to the top of the cab then hook up a trailer load 10 of the big round hay bails on it and take it to market. We did about 5 loads a day. It was a damned work horse but was a nice truck they had leather interior, upgraded radio complete with a 2 grand Kenwood touch screen double din, a 10" JL W6, and JL Components all around. A 6 speed manual trans with a feather weight clutch. It made the 2 hour trip a breeze it would hold 60 without the need to down shift out of 6th but twice, steep long hills. I really wish that I could have the bed side storage compartments like the new Ram's have.
