We passed by a Dodge/Jeep dealer a couple weeks ago and I caught a quick glimpse as we passed by (I was driving) and I saw either this or an extended cab type of jeep and was like WTH? Are they bringing back the Scrambler? But I didn't get a good look at it.

Very nice, I love the AEV conversions... but they will NEVER build anything (from the factory) that will cut into their prized Ram and Dakota sales.

You may have seen one of these:

It's called a JK-8 (not as cool as a CJ-8), basically a Mopar kit, that the dealer or other qualified technician installs on your Wrangler Unlimited.

Maybe so minus the paint scheme? I don't remember it being yellow, thought it was gray or a brownish color. Can't remember because I also remember a Jeep in a tan color that I had not seen before.

eh it's ok as a crawler type of rig, but the tacoma is a jack of all trades. you can tow a good size trailer or go crawling or go pre running or get a x runner and haul ass or use it as a good work truck

Could be any color, that one in the pic is just the Jeep show truck. My local Jeep dealer just finished one, all black no graphics, smaller lift then the yellow one in the pic. I will see if I can find a pic of it.

Looks like a hummer shit out a baby jeep. Too industrial for me personally but who gives a rats ass what I think.
Tacoma beats it on looks, but I bet that over priced box, wheels like a mofo. But then again so does ATV's. Sorry I gave 4 cents instead of my usual 2 cents. Hell I'm lucky i have any sense.

The AEV Double Cab is freakin sweet, and I even like the JK-8, but neither one is cheap. The JK-8 kit is $5,500, plus 12-16 hours of labor, plus paint. So, basically with the JK-8 you are looking at about $40,000 for a new Wrangler (almost) extended cab pickup. Thats no lift, no big tires, probably not even lockers unless you could find a smoking deal on a Rubicon to convert. The black JK-8 I posted above, they want...wait for it...wait for it.....

    $49,995!!!

And that is not based on a Rubicon, it's just an X model!

I bet you couldn't touch a AEV Double Cab for less then $65,000. You could buy 2 new Tacomas for that and still have money left to set one of them up to do 95% of what the AEV will do!

I traded my 07 jeep rubicon fully modded for my tacoma...i will tell you something, the jeep is a very capable animal offroad.you just dont drive offraod only..it sucks on the pavement.... the damn 3.8 engine just sucks...no power once you lift it 4 or more inch's,put bigger tires, and even with all performance upgrades .it still lacks in pulling power,acceleration...it also uses a quart of oil every month, regardless of how you drive it...and has plastic parts that dont stand up to time...
the tacoma i have right now is the first tacoma i have ever bought..i am impressed with it so far...it tows real good...it pulls its weight offroad.even with the mild lift i have on it....i use it here at my ranch and as my daily driver..hasn't let me down.. i like the jeep pickup, but jeep let me down this last time..:(..i will stick with my taco..its proven itself so far..i will keep on modding it ..it should get better ..

It's cool looking. But looks too long to be a major off road toy? And with the ridiculous price tag, I don't think it's going to compete with the Tacoma. It looks like it belongs in a rich man's garage between the H2 and the M5.

I think the Tacoma's are still priced in the range where most people will use them as a nice daily driver.
