I read that this was supposed to be a scion/toyota with colaboration with subaru having their boxer engine in it. And that Subaru would sell their version of it. Found this site that says about the same:
    http://toyobaru.net/

"Home of the future "86" (Hachi Roku) FT86, a lightweight rear wheel drive based sports car co-developed by Toyota and Subaru. Inspiration of its development comes directly from the legacy Toyota AE86. The Toyota FT-86 / Scion FR-S and Subaru 216a variant promises to deliver excellent control due to the lightweight body and low center of gravity thanks to its flat four cylinder engine developed by Subaru."

still say it needs more power though. It's gonna get compared to the 370.

Its not going to look as good as it does here, the Subaru rep at the LA autoshow I spoke with yesterday said that the final version is only going to look about %80 of what it is here, Im assuming alot of the sexiness is in the 20% not going to be in the final production.

Yep, because it's the only sports car in Toyota's lineup, even though performance-wise it's basically a naturally-aspirated Impreza 2-door.

I dont think its going to be compared to the 370, its going to be lighter and I believe much cheaper, not sure on that though, Ide say more of a competitor to Rx-8s, civics, Cobalts(not sure if they still make that car)

    Lots.
It won't be fast. C-net put out a review that the car will be N/A and have 197hp and 151 ft lbs of torque. That is only slightly better than the Genesis Coupe 2.0T. The Genesis does 0-60 in 6.8. My truck with bolt-ons does it in 6.2 seconds.

    I'm sure someone will...

I see a huge market for turbo kits out of this car though.

I did read somewhere that the enterior of this car is designed to take a roll cage with little fabrication so Im sure there is going to be a large aftermarket part supply to make it as fast as you want, it is going to be a great platform

It's going to have the same acceleration speeds as a Camry, more or less.

Where it's going to shine, if anywhere, is handling. Perhaps it'll be fun in the twisties.

I've basically given up on Toyota for fun-to-drive small cars. They've forgotten how to do it. I'll take a Mazda please:

The 2013 Genesis is supposed to have 275HP from the 4cyl and 350HP from the 6cyl.
Subaru is going to offer a STI version with 300ish HP and Toyota is going to release this as a Scion with less than 200HP, I can't see it selling all that well.

It all depends on price. The tc sells well.
