If its crackly and stuff should I replace it or use it till it fails? It's on my wife's car and we planning to get a new car in like a year hopefully... So should I spend the $$$ or not?

If it quits, the alternator, water pump and AC will no longer work. I think $35 and 15 min of work is worth it.
