Isn't it one of the strangest feelings riding in a car after driving your Truck?

The other day a friend and I from work went to lunch together and while riding in their car, it really got me thinking how strange the feeling was going from my truck which I'm used to driving almost everyday, to the low feeling of riding in a car! I guess I had become so used to driving my truck, that I had forgotten the feeling of riding in a car which I hadn't in along time.

I'm sure you guys can attest to this as well!

My work car is an 07 Honda Civic. I feel like the whole world sits above me. Then I hop into my Tacoma to go to the gym and I feel like I'm in a monster truck.

I've never owned a car and rarely have driven one. When I have to drive one I simply hate it -- too low to the ground and hard to see out of.

My truck feels like a sky scraper compared to my DD. I like the high feeling of the truck better though.

Yeah it is. I inherited a 97 Firebird when my mom passed away last month. I drove it back to MN from FL. Talk about sitting on the ground. Taco felt like a monster truck when I climbed into it the next day.

i feel low driving my wifes Jeep Liberty!
Recently in my buddies civic and the roads are terrible in most spots in Montreal. The abuse on his suspension over some of the potholes that i merely drive right over made me cringe.

Try going for 6,000 miles cross country in a cab over Peterbuilt then get into a VW Fox that's dragging the exhaust it sits so low. I felt like Barny Rubble with his feet hitting the ground.

It's all relative but yeah the low ride of most cars feels strange for a while. You quickly adapt however. I test drove a tundra before my new tacoma and the taco didn't feel as high. Inside the tundra you feel like you're sitting in a semi. I definitely felt lower in the taco.

Drove a manual Matrix after going all day in my 6spd Taco... felt like I was driving a go-cart! At first I didn't like sitting so "high" in comparison to my Mazda 3 but it definitely has grown on me.

I hate the way it feels... everything about it feels foreign. The mirrors, the way I have to sit, my view of the road, the way it rides... I hate not driving a truck!

Another weird thing is when I go to drive something with an automatic and get in and stomp my foot to the floor before I start it thinking there is a clutch pedal there! Once I start my job, I plan to buy a diesel Jetta for fuel economy, and to stack up miles on, want to save my Tacoma! Will have to get used to driving a car, but I am going to be a truck driver so sitting in a Tacoma or a car will be really low to the ground!
