2009 Suzuki Truck

The 2009 Suzuki Equator is a rebadged version of Nissan’s long-running Frontier compact pickup truck. In fact, the Equator and Frontier are built at the same Smyrna, Tenn., assembly plant.

Available with four- or six-cylinder engine, in two- and four-wheel drive and in Extended Cab and Crew Cab body styles, the Equator is a competent truck with a starting manufacturer’s suggested retail price, including destination charge, of $17,995 for a base, 152-horsepower, four-cylinder-powered Extended Cab 4X2 model with five-speed manual transmission.


This is less than the $18,240 starting retail price of the base, 2009 Nissan Frontier King Cab 4X2 with manual transmission and same 152-horsepower, four-cylinder engine as the Equator. It’s also less than the $19,995 starting retail price for a base, 2009 Toyota Tacoma Access Cab 4X2 model with 159-horsepower four-cylinder engine.

Looks like a frontier and a Tacoma made a baby.

 

I think everyone knows that this is a rebadged Frontier. Now which would you want more .......a Nissan or a Suzuki (or neither).

meh.. i dont like the grill and the back window.. but i guess its alright. I'm very picky however.

 

Suzuki can NOT make cars/trucks. except the Samurai.
I mean just listen to you say Suzuki....it sounds like it has no quality and its a POS. Just like Ford and Dodge(in this economy!)

 

I'm still not certain why Suzuki would go to all this trouble just to be able to sell a pickup with their name badge on it ...

All i have to say is Resale Value...
Save a few grand new and lose it again instantly when you try to sell it.
The whole time you were driving a Suzuki!

It's very difficult to look a different direction outside of the Taco Supreme.

 

... and ugly wide-mouthed baby that take after its Mom (the Frontier), maybe.

All in all, It's a good alternative for the nissan fans...at least for negotiation purposes when debating about this or a frontier. But as we know, no tacoma owner would in my opinion go to a frontier when they can't even hold their value like a tacoma for starters. Nevertheless, Im sure (as an after thought) some people would consider the door ding factor...their fenders are aluminum while ours have plastic around the wheel wells for added protection from morons who cant open a door without hitting the car next to them (I've got 4 now, no Im not bitter ).

totally agree, nissan does make tough trucks, just wanted to something different from Japan......................remember the ridgeline..
